What is gallbladder swelling?
Disease description:
I recently found out during a health checkup that I have a gallbladder cyst. Could you please explain what a gallbladder cyst is?
Gallbladder swelling is generally caused by inflammation, gallstones, tumors, or other reasons. Gallbladder swelling refers to edema of the gallbladder wall and enlargement of the gallbladder volume, representing a pathological change that may occur in various organic diseases of the gallbladder. For example, in patients with acute cholecystitis, inflammatory irritation can lead to edema and thickening of the gallbladder wall, increased exudate, and consequently gallbladder enlargement. Patients are advised to seek timely medical attention when experiencing discomfort, clarify the underlying cause, and receive standardized treatment under a doctor's guidance.
