Generally, a woman's heart is located in the same position as most people, primarily on the left side of the chest. About two-thirds of the heart lies to the left of the body's midline, with one-third on the right. Its shape resembles an inverted pear, with the apex pointing downward and to the left front. However, the heart's position is not absolutely fixed and may vary slightly from person to person.

In rare cases, women may have variations in heart position, such as dextrocardia, where most of the heart is situated on the right side of the chest. However, this condition is extremely uncommon. During physical examinations, doctors typically perform auscultation and palpation based on the heart's normal anatomical location—for example, listening to heart sounds over the left chest to assess cardiac function.

Regardless of its position, the heart's primary role is to power the circulatory system, delivering oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood to all tissues and organs throughout the body while carrying metabolic waste products back for removal.

If you experience any heart discomfort, seek medical attention promptly.
