What is polyneuritis?
Polyneuritis is a condition characterized by multiple peripheral nerve damages caused by various factors. The main etiologies include poisoning, nutritional and metabolic disorders, infections, allergies, and hypersensitivity reactions. The primary symptoms of this disorder are as follows:
1. Sensory disturbances: symmetric sensory abnormalities in the distal extremities, such as pain, numbness, hyperesthesia, or hypoesthesia, typically distributed in a "glove-and-stocking" pattern.
2. Motor disturbances:表现为 muscle weakness, decreased muscle tone, diminished or absent tendon reflexes, and in advanced stages, muscle atrophy predominantly affecting the distal limbs.
3. Autonomic nervous system dysfunction: manifested as cold, pale, cyanotic skin or impaired sweating in the extremities; the skin may become rough and thin.
