What should not be consumed with kudzu root powder
I've been coughing constantly. I've been to the hospital and taken some medication, but it hasn't helped. A friend mentioned that kudzu powder can treat coughs and even prevent many illnesses, although there are several precautions to keep in mind. So, what should not be consumed with kudzu root powder?
1. Kudzu powder should not be consumed together with irritating foods such as chili peppers, ginger, and garlic, as these foods may irritate the gastrointestinal tract, increase gastric acid secretion, and affect the absorption and utilization of kudzu powder.
2. Kudzu powder should be avoided with caffeine-containing beverages such as coffee and cola, as these drinks may cause excessive gastric acid secretion and gastric congestion, potentially irritating the gastrointestinal tract when taken with kudzu powder.
3. Kudzu powder should not be consumed with alcoholic beverages, as the ethanol in alcohol may interact adversely with kudzu powder, possibly causing a disulfiram-like reaction, which is harmful to health.
4. Individuals with cold constitution, dampness excess, low blood pressure, or low blood sugar should use kudzu powder cautiously, as kudzu powder is cooling in nature and has blood pressure- and blood sugar-lowering effects, which may worsen cold conditions or negatively affect the control of blood pressure and glucose levels.
