Disease description:

My child is 6 months old, and there are small red spots—some of them are tiny blisters—on the back of the hands, feet, and body. The doctor said it's due to mite bites, but I'm not quite sure. I'd like to learn more: what are the symptoms of mite bites?

The skin reactions caused by mite bites, along with those resulting from other insect bites, actually belong to the same category of skin disorder—papular urticaria. This condition is quite common in clinical practice and is characterized by hive-like wheals appearing on the skin after bites, often relatively large in size. Within two to three days after being bitten, patients may experience increasingly severe itching. Typically, these symptoms resolve spontaneously within about a week, so there is generally no need for excessive concern. In addition, there is a specific type of mite commonly known as hair follicle mites (Demodex), which primarily inhabit the nose or facial areas of humans. Under microscopic examination, these mites can be clearly observed. The presence of hair follicle mites may not only cause localized skin discomfort but also lead to rosacea-like changes, affecting the patient's appearance and daily life.
