Symptoms of bone tuberculosis
Disease description:
Symptoms of bone tuberculosis
The main symptoms of bone tuberculosis include the following aspects:
1. Systemic symptoms: Patients may experience low-grade fever, with body temperature usually around 38°C, particularly in the afternoon; they may also have general weakness, fatigue, poor appetite, and night sweats.
2. Swelling: Noticeable swelling occurs in the affected bone area, typically without elevated body temperature. Pressure on the swollen area may produce a fluctuant sensation.
3. Pain: Pain may be mild initially, but as the disease progresses, it can stimulate or compress nearby nerve roots, causing significant pain, which is often more pronounced at night or during changes in body position.
4. Deformity: As the condition advances, destruction of bone joints and vertebrae may occur, leading to deformities—for example, spinal tuberculosis may result in angular kyphotic deformity.
5. Functional impairment: When bone tuberculosis affects joint areas, it may cause joint dysfunction, impairing normal joint movement.
