Symptoms of menstrual disorders
The main symptoms of menstrual disorders include the following:
1. Irregular menstrual cycle: The cycle may be too long or too short, and may even involve amenorrhea (absence of menstruation for three or more consecutive months) or frequent menstruation (menstrual cycles shorter than 21 days).
2. Abnormal menstrual flow: Menstrual bleeding may be excessive (menstruation lasting more than 7 days or significantly increased blood loss) or scanty (markedly reduced flow, sometimes only spotting).
3. Dysmenorrhea: Some patients experience lower abdominal pain before, during, or after menstruation, with varying intensity; severe pain may interfere with daily activities.
4. Other associated symptoms: Some women may also experience breast tenderness, mood swings, dizziness, fatigue, and other symptoms.
