Right after menstruation ends, although bleeding has stopped, the cervical os remains open and the reproductive system's defenses are relatively weak. Therefore, sexual intercourse is not recommended during this period to avoid increasing the risk of infections such as endometritis and pelvic inflammatory disease. Additionally, engaging in sexual activity too early may stimulate uterine contractions, potentially causing re-bleeding or menstrual irregularities. It is advisable to wait one to two days after menstruation has completely finished before resuming sexual activity. By then, the female reproductive system has largely returned to normal function and is better able to resist invasion by external bacteria, thus maintaining optimal health.
