How to treat farsightedness
Disease description:
I am nearsighted, so I usually find it inconvenient to see things clearly. I have a good friend who is farsighted, so I'd like to consult here—how should farsightedness be treated?
The main treatments for hyperopia include the following:
1. Daily care: Maintain good eye-use habits, avoid prolonged use of electronic devices, regularly relax the eye muscles, and reduce eye fatigue.
2. Dietary adjustment: Consume adequate foods rich in vitamins A and C, such as bananas, apples, and cabbage, to help improve vision.
3. Optical correction: Based on individual eye conditions, wear appropriate eyeglasses as recommended by a doctor to refocus light onto the surface of the retina. Wearing corrective glasses is especially important for moderate to severe hyperopia, or cases accompanied by eye strain or strabismus.
4. Surgical treatment: Procedures such as femtosecond laser surgery reshape the corneal curvature by removing corneal tissue to correct hyperopia. Additionally, implantable intraocular lenses are suitable for patients with high hyperopia due to irreversible lens damage or disease.
