Constipation in children can be managed through multiple approaches. 1. Adjusting the diet is key—increasing intake of fiber-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, along with adequate fluid consumption, helps soften stools and promote intestinal motility. 2. Establishing a regular bowel movement routine is also important; parents can help children develop a consistent time for defecation. 3. Increasing physical activity can enhance gastrointestinal motility and relieve constipation. Suitable exercises for children, such as walking, running, and jumping, should be encouraged. If constipation is severe or persistent, consider using stool-softening or laxative medications under medical supervision, or complementary therapies such as pediatric massage (Tui Na). Please note that medication should be used cautiously and only under a doctor's guidance.
