The main manifestations of ureteral stones include: 1. Pain – this is the most common symptom, characterized by sudden, severe pain in the flank or upper abdomen, which may radiate to the groin or genital area, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting. 2. Hematuria – due to irritation or mucosal injury caused by the stone rubbing against the ureteral wall, blood in the urine may occur, typically presenting as gross hematuria (visible to the naked eye) or microscopic hematuria. 3. Bladder irritative symptoms – when the stone is located near the ureterovesical junction, it may cause urinary frequency, urgency, and dysuria. 4. Urinary tract obstruction – the stone may block urine flow, leading to hydronephrosis; prolonged obstruction can impair renal function.
