Can prostatitis cause hip pain?

Dr. Li Mingchuan
Prostatitis generally does not directly cause hip pain. Common symptoms of prostatitis mainly include urinary abnormalities, urethral irritation, pain (typically located in the lower abdomen or perineal area), and changes in physiological function. Hip pain, on the other hand, may result from various factors such as trauma, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lumbar disc herniation, and others. Although pain from prostatitis may radiate to the lower back or lower limbs, it rarely causes direct hip pain. Therefore, if hip pain occurs, further evaluation is recommended to determine the underlying cause, and treatment should be pursued under the guidance of a physician.
