For dryness due to yin deficiency with excessive internal heat, traditional Chinese patent medicines such as Liuwei Dihuang Wan, Zhibai Dihuang Wan, or Qiju Dihuang Wan may be considered to nourish yin and reduce internal heat, thereby relieving symptoms. If dry mouth is caused by diabetes, hypoglycemic medications should be taken under medical supervision to control blood glucose levels. For dryness resulting from hyperthyroidism, anti-thyroid medications may be used as advised by a physician.
