Can Mecobalamin tablets treat lumbar disc herniation?
Disease description:
My lumbar disc herniation has already shown a significant protrusion on imaging studies. I am currently considering treatment with Mecobalamin tablets and would like to ask whether Mecobalamin tablets can be used to treat lumbar disc herniation.

Mecobalamin tablets can be used as an adjunctive treatment for lumbar disc herniation.
Mecobalamin is the active form of vitamin B12 and has the effects of nourishing nerves, promoting nerve repair, and improving nerve function. For patients with lumbar disc herniation, mecobalamin tablets can help alleviate pain and functional impairments caused by nerve compression.
Mecobalamin tablets can also provide some relief from symptoms such as buttock pain and leg pain caused by lumbar disc herniation. By promoting the growth and repair of nerve cells and improving nerve conduction, they help reduce pain.
Although mecobalamin tablets are effective to some extent in treating lumbar disc herniation, they cannot cure the condition. Patients with severe or progressively worsening symptoms may require surgical intervention. Additionally, patients should use mecobalamin tablets only as directed by a physician.
