What are the symptoms of suppurative parotitis?

The symptoms of suppurative parotitis mainly manifest as local manifestations in the parotid region and systemic reactions. Local symptoms include obvious redness, swelling, pain, and tenderness of the parotid gland, with pain significantly worsening during chewing or eating irritating foods. Additionally, purulent discharge may be observed from the parotid duct opening (the site of saliva secretion).
