Is it normal for children to have hyperactivity disorder?
Disease description:
My neighbor's child is particularly mischievous and always active. Recently, he was found to have difficulty concentrating. After a hospital examination, it was diagnosed as caused by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Is ADHD normal in children?
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in children is not considered a normal behavioral manifestation, but rather a common psychological disorder. Its main symptoms include excessive activity, inattention, emotional instability, learning difficulties, and impaired fine and coordinated motor skills. These symptoms may negatively affect a child's daily life and academic performance. Specifically, children with ADHD may display persistent and excessive movement, difficulty remaining still; short attention span, easily distracted, trouble focusing on tasks for extended periods; mood swings, impulsivity, and frequent temper tantrums; difficulties with memory and discrimination abilities, leading to poor academic performance; and challenges with fine and coordinated motor skills, such as tying shoelaces or sharpening pencils. If symptoms are suspected, prompt medical consultation is recommended.
