What is the difference between inguinal lymph node tuberculosis and lymphoma?
Disease description:
My father has inguinal lymph node tuberculosis and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. He has been talking with the uncle in the neighboring bed and learned that the uncle has inguinal lymph node cancer. I would like to know, what is the difference between inguinal lymph node tuberculosis and lymph node cancer?

There are significant differences between inguinal lymph node tuberculosis and lymphoma in several aspects.
1. In terms of disease nature, lymph node tuberculosis is caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, while lymphoma is a malignant tumor of the lymphatic and hematopoietic systems.
2. Regarding symptom presentation, early-stage lymph node tuberculosis often presents as isolated lymph node enlargement, accompanied by noticeable symptoms such as low-grade fever in the afternoon and night sweats. In contrast, lymphoma typically presents as painless, progressive lymph node enlargement, and symptoms such as weight loss and fever may be more pronounced.
3. In terms of treatment approaches, lymph node tuberculosis is primarily treated with anti-tuberculosis medications, whereas lymphoma may require various treatment modalities including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery.
4. Regarding prognosis and survival duration, lymph node tuberculosis generally has a favorable prognosis if treated promptly; however, the prognosis for lymphoma varies depending on the severity of the disease and the treatment methods employed.
