Pulpitis can be temporarily relieved by applying ice packs. As a form of physical therapy, ice application reduces local tissue temperature and slows blood flow, thereby alleviating swelling and inflammatory responses in the pulp tissue, ultimately reducing tooth pain. When applying ice, it is recommended to wrap the ice pack in a clean towel or cloth to avoid direct contact with the skin, which may cause frostbite. The duration of cold application should be limited to approximately 15 minutes to ensure effectiveness while avoiding excessive cooling. However, it should be clearly understood that ice packs only provide temporary relief for pulpitis and cannot cure the condition. For the treatment of pulpitis, professional medical advice should be followed, employing appropriate treatment methods such as root canal therapy to fully resolve the issue.
