Can Yunnan Baiyao treat stomach diseases?

Yunnan Baiyao cannot directly treat stomach diseases. As a type of traditional Chinese medicine, its main ingredient is Yunnan Sanqi (Panax notoginseng), which functions to promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, reduce swelling, and relieve pain. It is particularly effective in treating symptoms such as traumatic injuries and pain caused by blood stasis and swelling. In the area of stomach diseases, although Yunnan Baiyao can improve microcirculation, promote blood flow, and help alleviate mucosal congestion and achieve hemostasis to some extent, it does not have primary therapeutic effects on gastrointestinal disorders. For example, it has no bactericidal effect on pathogenic bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori, nor does it have acid-suppressing properties. Therefore, for the treatment of stomach diseases, systematic therapy based on the specific type and underlying causes of the condition is still necessary, and appropriate medications should be selected under the guidance of a physician.
