Can I eat peanuts when my postprandial blood sugar is high?
Disease description:
After measuring my blood sugar following a meal, I noticed that my blood sugar level had risen. I still wanted to eat some peanuts, but I was unsure whether I should. I would like to know if it's safe to eat peanuts when blood sugar is high after a meal.

High postprandial blood glucose: Peanuts can be consumed in moderation, but the following points should be noted:
1. Glycemic index and dietary fiber: Although peanuts contain a certain amount of carbohydrates, they have a low glycemic index (GI) and are rich in dietary fiber, which helps delay the rate of digestion and absorption, thus aiding in stable post-meal blood glucose control.
2. Portion control: Each consumption of peanuts should not be excessive, to avoid intake of too much fat and calories that may cause blood glucose fluctuations.
3. Timing of consumption: It is best to eat peanuts between meals or as a snack, avoiding immediate consumption after meals to reduce impact on postprandial blood glucose.
4. Allergies and medical condition: If the patient is allergic to peanuts, or if their condition is unstable or in an acute exacerbation phase, peanuts should be avoided to prevent worsening of the condition or triggering an allergic reaction.
