Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a severe and often fatal illness, characterized by diverse and rapidly progressing symptoms. The following are the main clinical manifestations of this disease: 1. Incubation period: The incubation period for Ebola virus disease ranges from 2 to 21 days, typically between 5 to 12 days. 2. Early symptoms: Patients usually experience an acute onset of illness, presenting with high fever, chills, headache, myalgia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Sore throat, cough, and conjunctival congestion may also occur. 3. Peak symptoms: Around the 3rd to 4th day of illness, patients may enter the peak phase, during which symptoms significantly worsen. These include persistent high fever, increased severity of systemic intoxication symptoms, and aggravated gastrointestinal manifestations. Additionally, varying degrees of hemorrhagic manifestations may occur. In severe cases, patients may develop altered consciousness, shock, and involvement of multiple organs, potentially leading to death due to bleeding, liver and kidney failure, or fatal complications. If you have any concerns, please consult a qualified physician.
