What are the initial symptoms of chronic colitis?
Disease description:
I always have abdominal pain and pass pus in my stool. I'm worried it might be chronic colitis. What are the initial symptoms of chronic colitis?
The initial symptoms of chronic colitis mainly include:
1. Abdominal pain: Mild to moderate abdominal pain, often localized in the lower left abdomen, occasionally involving the entire abdomen. The pain is usually distending or dull in nature and may resolve spontaneously.
2. Abnormal bowel movements: Diarrhea is the primary manifestation, with bowel movements reaching 2-4 times per day. The stool is often mushy and sometimes unformed, although mushy or watery stools are uncommon. Some patients may experience constipation, difficulty passing stool, and dry feces.
3. Other symptoms: Such as nausea, fatigue, weight loss, poor appetite, anemia, etc., which may worsen as the disease progresses.
