The symptoms of Ebola hemorrhagic fever are diverse and severe: 1. Initial symptoms: Patients develop acute onset with high fever, chills, headache, myalgia, nausea, and other symptoms. Some patients may present with conjunctival congestion and relative bradycardia. Subsequently, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and bloody stools may occur. Half of the patients may also experience sore throat and cough. 2. Peak symptoms: Around the 4th to 5th day after illness onset, patients enter the peak stage, during which altered mental status, such as delirium and somnolence, may appear. Severely affected patients develop multi-site bleeding several days after disease onset, including hemoptysis, epistaxis, oral bleeding, subconjunctival hemorrhage, gastrointestinal bleeding, skin hemorrhage, and hematuria. Day 10 represents the peak of bleeding, with over 50% of patients experiencing severe hemorrhage, which can lead to death due to fatal complications such as hemorrhage, liver failure, and renal failure. 3. Other symptoms: Patients may also develop severe symptoms such as hypotensive shock, electrolyte imbalance, and acid-base disturbances. Some patients may exhibit a measles-like rash. If you have any concerns, please consult a relevant physician.
