What are the symptoms of the Ebola virus?
Disease description:
I have a friend who is 30 years old. He said that a few years ago he went to Africa and happened to be there during an Ebola virus outbreak. He mentioned that this virus is quite severe. May I ask, what are the symptoms of the Ebola virus?
The symptoms of Ebola virus mainly include:
1. Initial symptoms: Sudden onset of high fever, severe headache, muscle and joint pain, possibly accompanied by sore throat, weakness, fatigue, and rash.
2. Gastrointestinal symptoms: Subsequently, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may appear. Diarrhea can persist for several days and may lead to dehydration, shock, and low blood pressure in severe cases.
3. Hemorrhagic symptoms: In later stages of the disease, bleeding from multiple sites may occur, such as blood in the stool, nosebleeds, blood in the urine, and bleeding from the gums, even bleeding from every orifice of the body.
4. Other severe symptoms: Persistent high fever, altered mental status (such as drowsiness, delirium, seizures), and signs of meningeal irritation. Patients with severe disease may die from hemorrhage, liver and kidney failure, or severe complications.
