Renal insufficiency mainly manifests in the following aspects: 1. Clinical manifestations: Persistent discomfort or dull pain in the lumbar region, present in more than half of patients. Persistent hypertension, with blood pressure reaching up to 200/120 mmHg in some patients, and poor response to medication. Ocular fundus changes, such as retinal edema and hemorrhage, accompanied by symptoms including decreased vision and elevated intraocular pressure. Abnormal growth and development, such as short stature, sparse teeth, and fine, yellowish hair. 2. Complications: May be associated with skeletal disorders such as dwarfism and rickets, as well as anemia and hypertension. 3. Disease characteristics: Usually unilateral, commonly affecting adolescents with an average age of onset under 25 years. Bilateral renal hypoplasia is extremely rare and often results in early postnatal death.
