Treatment Methods for Vitreous Opacity
Disease description:
I have some issues with my own eyes, and the vitreous body is cloudy. I would like to ask the doctor: what are the treatment options for vitreous opacity?

Vitreous opacity, also known as floaters, is usually caused by the natural aging process of the vitreous inside the eye. For severe vitreous opacities that cause visual disturbances, there are several possible treatment options:
1. Observation: Mild vitreous opacities are often gradually ignored by the brain over time and may no longer cause significant visual interference.
2. Laser treatment: Certain types of floaters may be treated with laser surgery in an attempt to break them apart or remove them, although this method is not always effective and may carry risks.
3. Vitrectomy: For severe cases, such as vitreous opacities associated with retinal disease, a vitrectomy may be required to replace the cloudy vitreous with a clear saline solution or gas.
4. Medication: Although there are no medications specifically designed to treat vitreous opacities, some antioxidants and vitamins, such as vitamins C and E, may support overall eye health.
Note: If you notice new or changing visual symptoms, a sudden increase in floaters, flashes of light, or shadows blocking your vision, these may be warning signs of retinal tear or detachment, and immediate medical attention is necessary.
