Disease description:

I am 35 years old this year. During a recent physical examination, my doctor told me that I have epididymitis, but I haven't noticed any abnormalities with my body. May I ask the doctor, what are the symptoms of epididymitis?

Epididymitis mainly presents with the following symptoms: 1. Pain: Usually starts on one side of the scrotum, accompanied by gradually worsening pain that may radiate to the groin area and lower abdomen. 2. Swelling: The affected epididymis becomes enlarged and indurated, with significant tenderness upon palpation. 3. Fever: Accompanied by general malaise and possible elevation in body temperature, indicating infection. 4. Urinary tract symptoms: Frequency, urgency, dysuria, or difficulty urinating may occur. 5. Sexual dysfunction: Some patients may experience reduced libido or impaired erectile function. 6. Local tenderness: During physical examination, palpation of the epididymal region reveals distinct tenderness. Epididymitis is commonly caused by bacterial infection, and if left untreated, it may lead to complications such as infertility. If the above symptoms occur, prompt medical attention is recommended.
