Disease description:

I've recently been experiencing significant itching in my feet, and they're also slightly infected. When I consulted a doctor, they diagnosed it as tinea pedis (athlete's foot). I would like to know what this condition is like and what tinea pedis looks like.

Tinea manuum/pedis (hand/foot fungus) is a common dermatological condition primarily caused by fungal infection. Its symptoms vary, and are specifically as follows: 1. **Vesicular type**: Characterized by small, deep blisters appearing on the hands and feet. The blister walls are relatively thick, making them resistant to rupture. Blisters are typically scattered or clustered. The blister fluid may be absorbed and dry up spontaneously, followed by peeling of the skin. 2. **Maceration and erosion type**: Commonly occurs between the toes.表现为皮肤浸渍发白,剥脱后露出红色基底,有少量渗出,易继发细菌感染,产生恶臭。 3. **Squamous hyperkeratotic type**: Primarily affects the palms and soles. The skin becomes rough, thickened, dry, and scaly, prone to cracking, bleeding, and pain. 4. **Erythematous papular type**: During the active phase, tinea manuum/pedis may provoke localized inflammatory reactions, presenting as redness and papules, often accompanied by significant itching. 5. **Onychomycosis (nail fungus)**: With prolonged disease duration, tinea manuum/pedis may involve the nails, leading to onychomycosis. This manifests as nails turning gray or yellow, becoming thickened, rough, brittle, and possibly separating from the nail bed. If symptoms suggestive of tinea manuum/pedis appear, prompt medical consultation is recommended to avoid delaying treatment.
