Disease description:

I am 23 years old this year. Recently, I have been feeling unwell, with some areas of my body very itchy. Scratching has led to infections. After examination, I was diagnosed with tinea manuum/pedis (hand/foot fungus). I would like to know what the early symptoms of tinea manuum/pedis are.

The initial symptoms of tinea manuum and tinea pedis mainly include the following types, each with its specific manifestations: 1. **Vesicular type**: In the early stage, small vesicles the size of rice grains commonly appear on the edges of the hands or feet. These vesicles have thick walls and contain clear fluid, making them resistant to rupture. They are accompanied by significant itching. The vesicles may gradually coalesce to form larger bullae, and after removal of the blister walls, a honeycombed base and a bright red eroded surface can be observed. 2. **Maceration and erosion type**: This type mainly occurs between the toes, especially between the fourth and fifth toes. It presents as softened, whitish keratin layers. Due to constant friction during walking, the epidermis is easily shed, exposing a bright red eroded surface along with intense itching and slight exudation. This type is prone to secondary infection and requires special attention. 3. **Papular squamous type**: Patchy scaling appears on the hands and feet, accompanied by itching. The skin lesions may gradually expand, forming well-demarcated, scaly patches. If any of these symptoms are detected, prompt medical consultation is necessary to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
