Dr. Zhao Xiaodong
The body temperature during the ovulation period generally shows a trend of first decreasing and then increasing. Before ovulation, the basal body temperature is relatively low and stable, usually maintained around 36.2℃ to 36.5℃. On the day of ovulation, the basal body temperature may drop by 0.3℃ to 0.5℃ compared to the previous day, becoming the day with the lowest temperature throughout the menstrual cycle. Subsequently, after ovulation, the corpus luteum starts to secrete progesterone, causing the body temperature to gradually rise, generally reaching between 36.6℃ and 37℃, which is 0.3℃ to 0.5℃ higher than the pre-ovulation temperature. This high-temperature phase usually lasts about two weeks until just before the next menstrual period begins. If pregnancy does not occur, the temperature will drop; if pregnancy occurs, the temperature may remain elevated. Therefore, the temperature variation during the ovulation period ranges between 36.2℃ and 37℃, but the exact temperature should be assessed based on individual conditions and the menstrual cycle.
