The formation of red bumps after mosquito bites is primarily an allergic reaction to allergenic substances present in mosquito saliva. When a mosquito bites, it releases saliva containing complex chemical substances. Once these substances enter the human skin, they trigger a response from the immune system, causing local vasodilation, congestion, and the release of inflammatory mediators such as histamine, leading to redness, swelling, and itching. The severity of this allergic reaction varies among individuals; mild cases may only present with transient redness and itching, while severe cases can last longer and even lead to more serious skin inflammation. To alleviate these symptoms, the affected area can be washed with soap and water or treated with anti-itch creams. If necessary, oral antihistamines may also be taken.
