Is an N95 mask disposable?
Disease description:
My boyfriend is 28 years old this year. Due to work requirements, he needs to work in areas with relatively high pedestrian traffic. I finally managed to buy a few N95 masks, but masks are still in short supply currently. I would like to ask, are N95 masks disposable?

N95 masks are not "disposable" in the traditional sense; their service life and replacement frequency depend on individual usage and environmental conditions. N95 masks can effectively filter at least 95% of non-oily particles, such as virus droplets and dust, and are widely used in medical, industrial, and high-risk exposure settings.
Once the mask becomes contaminated, damaged, or breathing resistance significantly increases, or the wearing time exceeds the official recommended continuous usage duration (typically 4–8 hours, depending on specific circumstances), it should be considered unsuitable for further use to avoid reduced protection effectiveness or becoming a source of contamination.
Therefore, although N95 masks can theoretically be reused, strict adherence to usage conditions and replacement criteria is necessary to ensure protective effectiveness and personal safety.
