N95 masks can effectively filter at least 95% of non-oily particles, such as virus droplets and dust, and are widely used in medical, industrial, and high-risk exposure settings.
Once the mask becomes contaminated, damaged, or breathing resistance significantly increases, or the wearing time exceeds the official recommended continuous usage duration (typically 4–8 hours, depending on specific circumstances), it should be considered unsuitable for further use to avoid reduced protection effectiveness or becoming a source of contamination.
Therefore, although N95 masks can theoretically be reused, strict adherence to usage conditions and replacement criteria is necessary to ensure protective effectiveness and personal safety.
