Gout patients can consume salad dressing, but in moderation. Salad dressing is primarily made from vegetable oil, egg yolk, and vinegar, and it has a relatively low purine content. Moderate consumption generally does not significantly increase blood uric acid levels, thereby triggering or worsening gout symptoms. Gout patients should follow dietary principles of low purine intake and balanced nutrition, with appropriate consumption of fresh vegetables and fruits. As a condiment, salad dressing can be used in making fruit or vegetable salads to enhance flavor. However, because salad dressing contains high levels of fat and calories, excessive consumption may be detrimental to health. Therefore, it is recommended that gout patients limit their daily intake to avoid overconsumption. In addition, gout patients should also avoid high-purine foods such as seafood and animal offal, and follow medical advice regarding medication and regular follow-up examinations to control the condition and prevent complications.
