Can patients with gout eat cabbage?
Disease description:
I usually eat cabbage stir-fried with meat to fill my stomach. My gout has flared up in the past few days, and I would like to know, can I eat soda crackers with gout?
Gout patients can consume cabbage, which is beneficial for them. Cabbage is a low-purine food; therefore, its consumption does not lead to increased uric acid levels in the body nor does it trigger or exacerbate gout symptoms. Additionally, cabbage is rich in various nutrients such as vitamin C, dietary fiber, folate, selenium, and potassium, which help enhance immunity, promote intestinal motility, and assist in regulating blood glucose and cholesterol levels, providing certain health benefits for gout patients. Cabbage can be included as part of the daily diet for gout patients, and moderate consumption can help supplement necessary nutrients. However, it is important to maintain a balanced diet and avoid excessive intake of high-purine foods in order to keep uric acid levels stable.
