Gout patients can consume blueberries, for the following reasons: 1. Low purine content: Blueberries are a low-purine food, with very low purine levels per 100 grams. They do not significantly affect uric acid levels in gout patients and therefore will not trigger or worsen gout symptoms. 2. Rich in nutrients: Blueberries are rich in various nutrients such as vitamin C, dietary fiber, and antioxidants. These components help promote overall health and enhance immunity, which is beneficial for gout patients. 3. Moderate consumption: Although blueberries are beneficial for gout patients, they should be consumed in moderation. Overconsumption may burden the gastrointestinal system and lead to digestive problems. In terms of diet, gout patients should also follow the low-purine diet principle, limiting intake of high-purine foods such as seafood and meat, to control uric acid levels and reduce the risk of gout attacks.
