These days, I went to the hospital for a checkup and received my lab report, but I couldn't understand it. Could you please tell me what are the normal indicators for hypothyroidism testing?

The main indicators for diagnosing hypothyroidism include TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), FT3 (free triiodothyronine), and FT4 (free thyroxine). The normal ranges for these indicators may vary slightly depending on the hospital and testing equipment. Generally, the normal range for TSH is approximately 0.27–4.2 mIU/L (or 0.3–5.0 mU/L), for FT3 it is 3.1–6.8 pmol/L (or 2.0–6.6 pmol/L), and for FT4 it is 12–22 pmol/L (or 10.3–31.0 pmol/L, corresponding to 0.8–2.3 ng/dL). Hypothyroidism can be diagnosed when the TSH level is higher than the normal reference range, and both FT3 and FT4 levels are lower than the normal reference ranges.
