How to Treat Body Odor
Disease description:
I have axillary osmidrosis (body odor) and I'm afraid of the arrival of summer because the odor becomes stronger in summer. How can I treat axillary osmidrosis?

Treatment methods for axillary odor mainly include:
1. Daily care: Keep the underarm area clean and dry, bathe frequently, and change clothes regularly, especially choosing breathable cotton clothing, to reduce bacterial growth and sweat accumulation.
2. Medication: Use topical agents such as antiseptics, antiperspirants, and deodorants, such as aluminum chloride in absolute ethanol solution or trichlorophenylurea, to inhibit bacterial growth, reduce sweat secretion, and mask odors. However, attention should be paid to the method and dosage of medication to avoid skin irritation or allergic reactions.
3. Physical therapy: For example, laser therapy, which reduces sweat secretion by destroying sweat glands, thereby alleviating symptoms of axillary odor. However, this method requires multiple treatments, is costly, and may cause some discomfort or pain.
4. Surgical treatment: For severe cases of axillary odor, surgery may be considered, such as minimally invasive surgery, which involves removing the underarm sweat glands to provide a permanent cure. Surgery should be performed at a qualified hospital, and postoperative care should follow the doctor's recommendations.
5. Injection therapy: Local injection of botulinum toxin can reduce sweat gland secretion, thus alleviating symptoms of axillary odor. However, this method requires periodic repetition and is relatively expensive.
