What are the causes of right renal area pain?
Disease description:
The day before yesterday, I suddenly experienced severe pain in the right kidney area of my back. The pain was so intense that I couldn't even stand, followed by a feeling of distension. Painkillers had no effect. Doctor, what are the possible causes of right kidney area pain?

Right flank pain may include but is not limited to:
1. Kidney stones: Stones moving through the urinary tract can cause severe, colicky pain, typically starting in the back and radiating toward the lower abdomen.
2. Pyelonephritis: Inflammation caused by kidney infection, often accompanied by symptoms such as fever, frequent urination, urgency, and painful urination.
3. Renal cysts: Fluid-filled cystic structures within the kidney enlarge and may cause pain by compressing surrounding tissues.
4. Renal tumors: Benign or malignant tumor growth that may lead to persistent or progressively worsening pain.
5. Renal vascular diseases: Such as renal artery stenosis, which may cause pain.
6. Muscle strain or rib injury: Non-renal causes, but pain may be referred to the flank area.
7. Urinary tract infections: Infections anywhere along the urinary tract, not limited to the renal pelvis, may cause back pain.
8. Renal failure: Acute or chronic kidney dysfunction, which may sometimes be accompanied by pain.
If experiencing right flank pain, prompt medical attention and thorough evaluation are necessary.
