How to treat moderate cervical inflammation
Disease description:
I have recently been feeling a persistent bloating and discomfort in my lower abdomen. After examination, it was found that I have cervicitis. How is moderate cervical inflammation treated?

Cervical moderate inflammation, commonly referred to as cervicitis, may be caused by bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections. Treatment usually includes the following aspects:
1. Antibiotic therapy: If caused by bacterial infection, doctors may prescribe oral or topical antibiotics, such as metronidazole or azithromycin, to be taken according to medical instructions for the complete course.
2. Antiviral medications: If a viral infection is the cause—for example, human papillomavirus (HPV)—specific antiviral drugs may be required, although these are typically used in conjunction with immunotherapy or physical removal of virus-related lesions.
3. Local care: Anti-inflammatory and anti-itch topical creams or suppositories may be used to help relieve symptoms.
4. Physical therapy: In certain cases, such as the presence of abnormal cells on the cervix, physical treatments like cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen freezing) or electrocautery may be needed to remove the lesion.
5. Regular follow-up: After treatment, regular Pap smears and HPV testing are necessary to monitor for changes in condition and to detect potential problems at an early stage.
Please be sure to undergo treatment under the guidance of a doctor and do not take medications on your own.
