Can drinking milk make you taller?
My child has always been shorter compared to peers of the same age. I've been giving him milk every day this year, but I haven't noticed any significant growth. I'm wondering, does drinking milk really help increase height?
Children and adolescents in their growth and development phase may grow taller by regularly drinking milk, but genetic factors are the primary determinant of height increase in children and adolescents. Adults cannot grow taller by drinking milk.
Regular milk consumption during growth and development stages can supply essential substances required for height growth. Milk contains abundant calcium, vitamins, and proteins, which can effectively promote bone formation. During infancy or puberty, drinking milk provides a significant amount of calcium.
While supplementing with milk, it is also important to ensure adequate intake of active vitamin D, as calcium absorption requires assistance from vitamin D in order to deposit into the bones and promote healthy bone development.
