Dietary Considerations for Gastric Spasms
Recently, I have been feeling uncomfortable in my stomach. After visiting the hospital, I was diagnosed with gastric spasm. I would like to know, what are the dietary precautions for gastric spasm?
Patients with stomach spasms need to pay special attention to their diet:
1. Eat small, frequent meals: Consume food in smaller portions more frequently to avoid overeating at once, thereby reducing the burden on the stomach.
2. Stay hydrated: Drink an appropriate amount of water, but avoid consuming large amounts immediately after meals, as this may increase stomach pressure.
3. Maintain nutritional balance: Focus on dietary diversity and include adequate amounts of high-quality protein and iron-rich foods such as lean meat, fish, chicken, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables.
4. Increase fiber intake: Consume more dietary fiber, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, which can help improve digestion.
5. Choose mild foods: Avoid spicy, greasy, overly cold, or hot foods, as these may irritate the stomach lining and worsen spasms.
6. Avoid irritants: Strictly avoid alcohol and refrain from drinking stimulants such as coffee and strong tea.
7. Avoid caffeine and alcohol: These substances may stimulate gastric acid secretion and exacerbate stomach discomfort.
If symptoms of stomach spasms persist or worsen, seek medical attention promptly.
