What causes cloudy urine?
I noticed that my urine was very cloudy and looked abnormal, so I wanted to ask, what are the causes of cloudy urine?

Main causes of cloudy urine include:
1. Insufficient water intake: If you drink too little water regularly, urine becomes more concentrated, which can cause cloudy urine. In such cases, increasing water consumption usually improves the condition.
2. Urinary tract infections: Inflammatory conditions such as urinary tract infections, cystitis, and pyelonephritis may introduce bacteria, white blood cells, and shed mucosal fragments into the urine, causing it to appear cloudy.
3. Hematuria: Blood mixed in the urine can also make it appear cloudy. This may be caused by injuries, stones, tumors, or other diseases within the urinary system.
4. Proteinuria: Kidney disease may cause excessive protein to be excreted in the urine, resulting in cloudy urine, a condition known as proteinuria. Proteinuria is an important indicator of kidney dysfunction.
5. Medication side effects: Certain medications may alter the color or clarity of urine, such as antibiotics and antiepileptic drugs.
6. Other factors: Excessive consumption of alkaline foods, high levels of phosphates in the urine, or the presence of indwelling urinary devices such as urinary catheters or ureteral stents may also cause cloudy urine.
