However, the carbohydrates in beer are rapidly absorbed after consumption and may cause a temporary increase in blood glucose levels.
When beer consumption is limited, the sugar content typically does not cause significant effects on blood sugar levels. However, excessive beer consumption may elevate blood glucose due to its high maltose content. Additionally, the alcohol component in beer can stimulate pancreatic function and affect the normal metabolism and excretion of insulin, thereby indirectly influencing blood sugar levels.
