What are the symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease?
I'm feeling some discomfort in my lower abdomen and suspect I might have pelvic inflammatory disease. I'd like to know, what are the symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease?

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a fairly common gynecological condition, primarily involving inflammation of the female reproductive organs and surrounding tissues, usually caused by bacterial infection.
Common symptoms generally include:
1. Lower abdominal pain, which may be persistent or worsen during sexual intercourse, bowel movements, or strenuous activity.
2. Abnormal vaginal discharge, such as increased volume, yellow or green coloration, and an unpleasant odor.
3. Pain during sexual activity, along with possible fever, elevated body temperature, or chills.
4. Menstrual irregularities, such as prolonged periods, heavier menstrual flow, or bleeding between periods.
5. If the urinary system is affected, symptoms such as frequent urination, urgent urination, or painful urination may also occur.
6. If left untreated for a long time, PID may lead to fallopian tube adhesions and blockage, affecting fertility and potentially causing infertility or recurrent miscarriages.
7. General malaise, such as fatigue and loss of appetite, may also be experienced.
If you experience these symptoms, especially multiple symptoms occurring together, it is important to seek medical attention promptly to avoid letting a minor condition develop into a more serious one.
