What causes a high heart rate?
I didn't engage in strenuous exercise today, yet I constantly feel my heart beating very fast. What are the possible causes of an abnormally high heart rate?

Common causes of high heart rate include:
1. Physiological factors such as strenuous exercise, heavy physical labor, and emotional excitement can all lead to an increased heart rate. This type of increase is usually temporary and generally does not require special treatment.
2. Pathological factors: Heart diseases, such as coronary artery disease, myocarditis, and valvular heart disease. Endocrine disorders, such as hyperthyroidism and excess adrenaline. Electrolyte imbalances, such as hypokalemia and hypercalcemia. Respiratory diseases, such as pulmonary infection or asthma, which may cause hypoxia. Neurological conditions, including anxiety and panic disorders, among other psychological and mental factors.
3. Medication side effects: Drugs that block the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves may also cause an increased heart rate.
4. Other factors: Dehydration, anemia, and fever can also cause a rapid heart rate.
An elevated heart rate may be caused by multiple factors. If the heart rate remains high for a prolonged period, timely medical attention is recommended to avoid delaying treatment.
