What causes athlete's foot?
Recently, many people have been asking about the causes of athlete's foot.
Foot odor, also known as athlete's foot, is a common fungal infection disease, mainly caused by the following factors:
1. Fungal infection: Athlete's foot is primarily caused by fungi on the skin, including Trichophyton rubrum, Epidermophyton floccosum, etc., which widely exist in moist and warm environments. Therefore, the feet, especially between the toes and the soles, become ideal parasitic sites.
2. Moist environment: Wearing soaked socks and shoes, and staying continuously on damp ground create an ideal environment for fungal growth and reproduction. Public bathrooms, swimming pools, and similar places are also high-risk areas for fungal transmission.
3. Poor hygiene habits: Poor personal hygiene habits, such as not changing socks frequently, not keeping feet dry, and wearing non-breathable socks and shoes, may increase the risk of infection.
4. Immune system status: People with weakened immune systems, such as diabetes patients and HIV/AIDS patients, are more susceptible to fungal infections.
Treating athlete's foot requires the use of antifungal medications, attention to personal hygiene, and keeping the feet clean and dry. If symptoms occur, prompt medical attention is recommended.
