What is athlete's foot?
Lately, my feet have been itchy all the time. I want to know what athlete's foot is like.

Foot fungus, also known as athlete's foot, is a common skin condition caused by a fungal infection. Symptoms of foot fungus include redness, peeling, itching, cracking, blisters, or odor. The main causes include the following factors:
1. Personal hygiene habits: Neglecting personal hygiene, frequently wearing communal slippers in public baths, or wearing non-breathable shoes such as leather shoes for extended periods can increase the risk of developing foot fungus.
2. Immune status: When the body's immunity is weakened, it is more susceptible to fungal infections, which can lead to the development of foot fungus.
3. Contagiousness: Foot fungus is somewhat contagious. Direct skin contact with someone who has athlete's foot—such as wearing their socks or shoes or sharing foot-washing utensils—can easily lead to infection.
4. Occupation and environment: Workers in certain occupations who are often in damp working environments are more prone to developing foot fungus.
In severe cases, oral antifungal medication may be required. At the same time, it is important to keep the feet dry and clean, change socks frequently, and wear breathable shoes and socks. For recurrent cases of foot fungus, it is recommended to visit a hospital for professional medical advice and treatment guidance.
