What should I do about dry and rough skin?
It's been very dry lately in winter, and I'm wondering what to do about dry, rough skin on the body?
Dry and rough skin is a common skin concern. It is recommended to address it from the following aspects:
1. Moisturize: Use moisturizing creams or lotions containing ingredients such as urea, glycerin, or hyaluronic acid, especially applying them while the skin is still slightly damp after bathing to lock in moisture.
2. Gentle cleansing: Bathe with warm water. Avoid excessively hot water and excessive use of soap or shower gel, which can strip the skin of its natural oils.
3. Dietary adjustments: Increase intake of foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, consume more fresh vegetables and fruits, and ensure sufficient intake of vitamins A, C, and E, which contribute to healthy skin.
4. Sun protection: Ultraviolet radiation is one of the factors leading to dry and aged skin. Use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher even on cloudy days.
5. Special treatments: Dry and rough skin caused by medical conditions such as hypothyroidism requires treatment targeting the underlying disease. If dry and rough skin is severe, consider medical aesthetic procedures such as hyaluronic acid injections to accelerate skin metabolism and enhance the skin's ability to retain moisture.
