When triglyceride levels are high, the main categories of foods to avoid include the following:

1. High-fat foods: such as fatty meats, animal offal, fried foods, grilled skewers, hot pot dishes, etc., which contain high levels of saturated fat and can elevate triglyceride levels.

2. High-sugar foods: such as cakes, candies, ice cream, chocolates, and other sweets, as well as sugar-sweetened beverages. The sugar in these foods can be converted into triglycerides in the body, increasing blood lipid levels.

3. High-cholesterol foods: in addition to the aforementioned high-fat foods, high-cholesterol foods such as egg yolks should also be avoided as much as possible, since cholesterol is one of the building blocks for triglyceride synthesis.

4. Processed and high-starch foods: such as preserved foods, puffed snacks, spicy strips, etc., which often contain high levels of salt, fat, and additives, all of which are detrimental to blood lipid control.

5. Alcoholic beverages: alcohol can affect liver metabolism and promote triglyceride synthesis; therefore, patients with high triglyceride levels should avoid alcohol consumption as much as possible.
