Eye fatigue, commonly referred to as visual fatigue or dry eyes, is primarily caused by prolonged use of electronic screens, reading, driving, or other activities requiring sustained visual focus. Methods to relieve eye fatigue mainly include:

1. Resting and looking into the distance: After continuous eye use for one hour, it is recommended to close the eyes for rest or look into the distance for 5 minutes, allowing the ciliary muscle to relax. This helps alleviate eye fatigue caused by prolonged near visual tasks.

2. Adjusting environmental lighting: Ensure sufficient yet non-glaring light in the workspace or reading area, and reduce screen reflections and glare.

3. Using artificial tears: If experiencing dry eyes, preservative-free artificial tear eye drops can be used to moisturize the eyes.

4. Applying cold or warm compresses: Depending on the specific symptoms of eye fatigue, either cold or warm compresses may be chosen. If experiencing a burning sensation in the eyes, apply a cold compress using a towel wrapped around ice; if experiencing dryness or mild swelling, apply a warm compress using a towel heated with warm water to promote blood circulation around the eyes.

5. Eye massage: Gently rotating and applying pressure to the muscles around the eyes, several times daily for about 5 minutes each time, can help promote blood circulation, reduce visual stress, and alleviate eye fatigue.
